DesignCon in Santa Clara begins Tuesday, January 27

Now in its 20th year, the newly expanded DesignCon conference will take place at the Santa Clara convention center January 27 – 30. Here’s a place you can discover and evaluate the latest design tools, technologies, and component developments in the industry, as well as connect with vendors and make valuable new contacts.

The DesignCon technical conference program has 14 tracks covering all aspects of electronic design, from chips through boards and systems. There are more than 100 technical paper sessions, panels, and tutorials to choose from. Look especially for modeling and simulation, wireless and photonic integration, power integrity, and high-speed serial design topics. Tuesday will have two sessions of tutorials, followed by technical panels at 4:45p.m. and a welcome reception at Levi's Stadium (sponsored by Keysight Technologies) from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Technical sessions begin Wednesday an 8:30 a.m. and will continue through Friday at 11:20 a.m.

Keynote speeches will be each day from noon to 12:30 p.m.

* Tuesday: Thomas H. Lee Ph.D., professor of electrical engineering at Stanford University

* Wednesday: Karen Bartleson, senior director of corporate programs and initiatives at Synopsys

* Thursday: Alex Lidow, Ph.D., CEO and co-founder of Efficient Power Conversion Corporation

The Expo area will be open Wednesday and Thursday, January 28 and 29, from 12:30 to 6:00 p.m. There you will find 150 exhibitors whose technical experts are waiting to talk with you. You can check out circuit and PCB design tools, passive components, connectors, wire and cable, test equipment, and materials. Vendors will help you discover and evaluate the latest technologies and gain insight into solving your chip, board, and systems design issues.
