Dev kit provides fingerprint detection

The low-cost TMS320C5515 Fingerprint Development Kit is a complete signal chain solution for easy integration of fingerprint biometric features. The kit includes a 30 x 30-mm core board based on the company’s C5515 DSP, two widely used sensor types (swipe and optical), and application software.

The kit provides fast and accurate fingerprint matching by using 16-bit fixed-point DSP for critical functions such as filtering, sorting, and transforming. Active power level is as low as 0.15 mW/MHz. The kit recognizes prints in less than 1 s with a false acceptance rate of less than 0.0015% and a false rejection rate of less than 1%.
