The Tree of Life, a glowing modern sculpture centering the exhibit hall at DevCon 2012, appears to sprout from the ground up, like some futuristic flora from another world. This glowing gorgeousness continues onto the ceiling, in the shape of halo-like orbs furthering the energy-filled, but peaceful atmospheric quality. Surrounding the Tree of Life is the open bar, a more easily explained source of energy and exuberance.

For DevCon 2012, held at the luxurious Hyatt Regency Orange County in Anaheim, CA, Renesas has pulled out all the stops. From its personalized, one-on-one concierge service, where blue-shirted, friendly and knowledgeable professionals walk you through any one of hundreds of hours of highly technical course listings, to its Panel Expert sessions filled with industry leaders answering attendees’ thoughtful questions on cutting-edge solutions, to its aforementioned beautiful Exhibit Hall, filled with delicious food and drink and Renesas partners exhibiting their creative new solutions.

Just off center in the Exhibit Hall, right next to the Tree of Life, is a sleek, top-of-the-line Cadillac, filled with goodies made possible by Renesas, designed to make your driving experience much more fun, connected, and safe. It unites all of your music from every source, and even has a “butt-shaking” feature, wherein you will literally be shaken awake if you happen to veer outside the lines of your given roadway.

Perhaps coolest of all is the Octopus Robot, which runs around and around in a veritable eight-legged frenzy, looking for all the world like it is in a hurry to get somewhere fast, and just as if it had come to life.
