Diff driver amp extends reach for 40G DP-BPSK systems
Supporting both DP-BPSK and the differential quadrature phase-shift keying (DQPSK) optical modulation formats, the TGA4959-SL is offered as the industry’s first 32-Gbit/s surface-mount differential modulator driver amplifier with the lowest power dissipation available for ultra-long distance optical networks. In addition to the lowest power dissipation — just 2.2 W at 8 Vpp, the amplifier also provides system-critical benefits including low rail ripple, high voltage capability and very low output jitter.
It offers differential input and output and an adjustable output amplitude of 6 to 9 Vpp. Measuring 10 x 7 x 3.2 mm, the TGA4959-SL offers low additive RMA jitter of 580 fs, a gain of 24 dB at 16 GHz, and rise and fall times of13 ps. (Contact company for pricing — available now)
