Digi-Key Corporation and Microchip Technology to Host Virtual Event

Online support for engineers unable to attend live Embedded Designers Forum

THIEF RIVER FALLS, Minnesota and Chandler, Arizona – Electronic components distributor Digi-Key Corporation, recognized by design engineers as having the industry's broadest selection of electronic components available for immediate shipment, and Microchip Technology, Inc. announced today the co-sponsorship of the Virtual Embedded Designer's Forum (EDF) event to take place Tuesday, November 2, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. PST at www.microchip.com/VirtualEDF.

To register for Virtual EDF, visit www.microchip.com/edf or www.digikey.com/edf.

This free online event will complement Microchip's Embedded Designers Forum, a series of live seminars being held at more than 100 worldwide locations. To support engineers who were unable to attend a local seminar, the virtual forum will feature the same information as well as the ability to interact directly with industry experts. The virtual event includes 12 presentations, including keynote presentations from Energizer® and Google PowerMeter™, interactive chats, and a virtual exhibit hall where attendees will gain access to a comprehensive collection of educational materials and resources supporting Microchip and the Smart Energy market.

While the live events feature six of nine modules focusing on Smart Energy and the latest technologies in low power, human interface, and connectivity, Virtual EDF will include all nine of the following modules:

• Adding USB to your Embedded Designs
• Connectivity Solutions for Embedded Designs
• Touch Screen Sensing and Graphical Displays
• Touch Sensing Solutions for Keys and Sliders
• Smart Energy Monitoring
• Smart Power Conversion
• Designing to Optimum Energy Usage
• Signal Conditioning for Embedded Applications
• Exploring MPLAB® Development Tools

These modules are packed with practical information and advice on how to achieve the lowest power consumption, add a more stylish user interface, run software that is more complex, add USB connectivity, and save money on development and system BOM cost. Following Virtual EDF, all content from the live event will be archived and available on-demand for 12 months.
