Digi-Key Corporation Announces Stock on New IP67 SEAL-D Connectors from NorComp
Proprietary sealing technology maintains same physical size and footprint as standard D-Sub products
THIEF RIVER FALLS, Minnesota – July 28, 2010 — Electronic components distributor Digi-Key Corporation, recognized by design engineers as having the industry's broadest selection of electronic components available for immediate shipment, today announced it has stock on NorComp's new line of IP67 sealed D-Sub connectors.
These new products are now available for purchase on Digi-Key's global websites and will be featured in future print and online catalogs.
The IP67 SEAL-D connector utilizes a proprietary sealing technology that maintains the same physical size and footprint as standard D-Sub products. This reduces space on new designs and eliminates the need to redesign enclosures and PC boards when implementing IP67 design upgrades.
These connectors are designed for applications that require protection from heavy spray or are exposed to short-term submersion. Typical applications include handheld computers, scanners, and printers that are used outdoors; remote sensors, gauges, and data loggers that are exposed to the elements; industrial and medical equipment routinely subjected to washdown; transmitters and emergency beacons that are subjected to short-term immersion; gas, electric, and water metering systems with embedded Smart Grid electronics; and consumer and commercial shipboard electronics, meters, and sensors.
The IP67 connectors are available in vertical and right angle board mount versions as well as a solder cup version for panel mount cable applications. Standard D-Subs are available in 9, 15, and 25 positions. The high-density models are available in 15, 26, and 44 positions.
