Digital bus emulator available for VXI The Model 1396 50-MHz, C-size
VXIbus digital bus emulator/word generator is for use in a wide variety of
digital test applications that require simulation or real-time testing of
any type of digital or bus-structured interface. The VXI module has 64
programmable I/O channels, 16 programmable static I/O lines, and 24 timing
and control lines. These features enable a single instrument to simulate
and dynamically test any bus up to 32 bits, whether standard (such as
VMEbus, EISA, 80486) or custom. Each of the 64 I/O channels has 32 Kbits
of data available for reading or writing data tables or for the generating
test vectors. An optional Window-based program call Wordform is available.
For special applications, Model 1396 can be used with a separate
parallel-to-serial converter card to simulate a serial word generator.
This technique permits data rates to 100 MHz with 16 channels and up to 2
Mbits of memory per channel to be achieved. ($12,000; Wordform option,
