Digital humidity sensor HDC1000 provides high measurement accuracy

Device measures humidity based on a novel capacitive sensor

This post sponsored by Texas Instruments.

The HDC1000 is a digital humidity sensor with an integrated temperature sensor that provides excellent measurement accuracy at very low power.

HDC1000 High Res Image for CIC

The device measures humidity based on a novel capacitive sensor. The humidity and temperature sensors are factory-calibrated. Its innovative Wafer-Level Chip-Scale Package simplifies board design with the use of an ultra-compact package. The sensing element of the HDC1000 is placed on the bottom part of the device, which makes it more robust against dirt, dust, and other environmental contaminants.

The HDC1000 monitors the supply voltage level, indicating when the voltage supply is less than 2.8V. One of the key features of the HDC1000 is its low power consumption, which makes the device suitable in battery or power harvesting applications. Applications include HVAC, Smart thermostats and room monitors, printers, handheld meters, medical devices, cargo shipping, automotive windshield defog, as well as wearable and mobile devices. The HDC1000 is functional within the full –40°C to +125°C temperature range.
