The CPC5001 is a non-inverting logic-signal isolator with buffered-logic inputs and open-drain outputs. The two-channel device propagates one signal from side A to side B, and one in the other direction. It provides 3,750 Vrms of galvanic isolation at 5-Mbaud data rates for digital communications over an optical barrier using 2.7 to 5.5-V supplies.
The device comes in an 8-pin DIP or SMT package and works at -40° to 85°C. It has a band-gap reference that sets input LED drive currents to 3 mA to reduce peak power requirements and slew-limited drivers to reduce EMI. The chip costs $2.38 ea/200.
