Digital temp sensors replace standard parts

Drop-in replacements for LM75, DS75, and TCN75A devices, the STxx75 precision digital-output temperature sensors devices are intended for use in any control application where a processor with an I2 C bus/SMBus needs to take action based on an accurate digital reading of the local temperature, or where an alarm or interrupt is required when a preset temperature level is reached. The devices use a band-gap temperature sensor, with a programmable 9 to 12-bit sigma-delta A/D converter to digitize the temperature reading to a resolution of up to 0.0625C.

Features include a supply voltage range of 2.7 to 5.5 V, an operating current of 75 μA (typical) at 3.3 V, a standby current of 1 μA (shutdown mode), and an accuracy of ±3 from −55 to 125C, and ±2 from −25 to 100C. ($0.70 ea/1,000samples now.)
