The component offers 2 to 12 switch positions (except 11) for single-pole, single-throw switches. It comes in a small PCB-mount package and is rated for 10,000 make-and-break cycles for every switch position. Other key specs include a contact rating of 100 mA at 50 V DC and a contact resistance of less than 50 mΩ.

Housed in red PA46 UL94V-0 rated plastic (glass-filled polyester), the switch comes complete with gold-plated contacts and terminals for added reliability. Well-suited for use in harsh environments, the BDB DIP is resistant to shock and vibration, with no unwanted switch opening of greater than 10 μs.

The switch is fully sealed, so it doesn’t require special treatment during assembly or washing. The operating temperature range is –40°C to 85°C. Key applications include industrial control address switches, function control, and logic switching for computers and peripherals.
