DisplayPort repeater optimizes signal quality

The PS8311 DisplayPort repeater IC improves output signal quality of a DisplayPort transmitter using advanced adaptive equalization. The device removes signal distortion introduced by long PCB traces and/or connectors in the path between a GPU source and display.

The chip includes a sideband signal multiplexer needed for multimode DisplayPort devices, runs on a single 3.3-V supply, and operates at 0° to 85°C. It supports one-, two-, or four-lane operation at a 1.62- or 2.7-Gbit/s link rate, and features automatic power-down. ($1.50 ea./volume qty — available now.)
