DLP design kits reach beyond traditional displays
Hardware and software development kits are tuned for new applications
Targeting expanded application of DLP and spatial light modulation technology beyond TVs and projectors, DLP Discovery 4000 hardware and software development kits provide engineers with a flexible platform for applications in a variety of markets. DLP chips have an array of up to 2.2-million microscopic mirrors that actuate up to several thousand times per second to control light or create a high-resolution image.
The 1,920 x 1,080-pixel version of the arrays have micromechanical mirrors on a 13.68-µm pitch. Each mirror can be individually deflected at ±12 about a hinged diagonal axis. The kits provide increased data and frame rate, over previous versions, flexible random row addressing, and have a 400-MHz LVDS interface. They are available in five versions with XGA and 1080p resolutions and include software packages for lab testing and easy setup to run experiments from a PC. Applications include direct-imaging maskless lithography, medical imaging, 3D measurements, and spectroscopy. (From $4,999 to $15,999 — available now.)
