The autoranging 4,000-count models 6300 multifunction DMM and 6100 Category III-600V DMM are priced at $58 and $34, respectively. Both units have relative mode, data hold, auto-power-off, and “Smart Jacks” that light up for appropriate inputs and flash/buzz to warn of incorrect inputs or current overload.

In addition to regular DMM functions, the meters offer frequency, duty-cycle, capacitance, diode-check, and transistor-test capabilities, and the 6300 has built-in light-level, sound-level, relative-humidity and temperature test functions. Overload protection fuses may be reset without opening the case. (6300, $58; 6100, $34–available now.)
