Driver optocouplers provide widest operating range
Saves space in designs interfacing low-current dc control circuits and ac power loads up to 380 V
The EL30XX family of 6-pin DIP random-phase and zero-cross triac driver optocouplers has the widest operating temperature range (-55 to 100C) currently available. Encompassing 21 different devices with a choice of peak blocking voltages from 250 to 800 V, the parts save space in designs interfacing low-current dc control circuits and ac power loads up to 380 V. Applications include industrial and consumer applications such as refrigerators, dishwashers, temperature controls, air conditioners, lighting controls, ac-motor drives, solid-state relays, and solenoid/valve controls.
The zero-cross versions of the optocouplers provide protection with its detection circuit connected to the gates of the individual SCR. They eliminate current surges, reduce EMI, and improve transient immunity. Additionally, the 800-V series provides an increased safety margin for control of 380 V off-line voltages.
The drivers are offered with low-trigger currents of 5, 10, and 15 mA, as well as blocking voltages rated from 250 to 800 V. TEL30XX devices are grouped in three random-phase series: EL301X (250 V), EL302X (400 V), EL305X (600 V) and four zero-cross series: EL303X (250 V), EL304X (400 V), EL306X (600 V), and EL308X (800 V).
