DSP library is now part of PIC32 C compiler

The MPLAB C Compiler (SW006015) for the PIC32 now features a royalty-free high-performance DSP Library enabling designers to combine digital signal processing and MCU control code. The code can execute a 256-point 16-bit RADIX-2 fast Fourier transform in 283 µs, about 22% faster than the previous PIC32 DSP library.

The package takes advantage of the PIC32 MCU’s multiply-accumulate math unit and two full sets of registers. The library allows users to select from the common 64-, 128-, 256-, 512-, and 1,024-point FFTs, as well as other sizes. Other key functions include 16- and 32-bit vector math, finite impulse response (FIR), infinite impulse response (IIR). and least-mean-squares filters. (Part of MPLAB C Compiler, which costs $895 — available now.)
