Dual-ch VGA offers 50-dB gain control range

The ADRF6516 VGA incorporates dual-channel, programmable, 6-pole low-pass filters and VGAs in a single chip.Features include a continuous gain control range of 50 dB and digital gain control range of 15 dB. Using SPI control, system designers can select the corner frequency of the 31-MHz, 6-pole Butterworth filter in 1-MHz resolution.

IMD3 is greatet than –65 dBc for 1.5-Vpp composite output and HD2, HD3 is greater than –65 dBm for 1.5-Vpp output. The part operates from a single 3.3-V supply and is packaged in a compact 32-lead, 5 × 5-mm LFCSP. ($8.88 ea/1,000; ADRF6516-EVALZ evaluation board, $150 — available now)
