Dual-core MCUs provide 2X 480 MIPS

The SH7205 and SH7265 32-bit MCUs incorporate two superscalar CPU cores and a comprehensive set of on-chip peripherals including 480-Mbit/s USB 2.0, ATAPI, and an image processing engine. Each CPU delivers 480 MIPS in the Dhrystone v1.1 benchmark, and 400-MFLOPS floating-point performance.

The 272-pin BGA-packaged devices target high-speed real-time control and feature a four-layer bus configuration with two layers for CPU and two for DMA controller use. They have a 2-D graphics engine, a digital video input, analog RGB outputs, a two-channel CAN controller, a 10-bit A/D, and an 8-bit D/A converter. ($21 to $23 ea/sample qtyavailable July.)
