Dual-output power IC simplifies design

Compliant with the PMBus 1.1 specifications, the PX7542 Di-POL power IC can control two independent outputs with two phases per output, or one to four phases in a single-output mode. The control function handles both DCR and RDS(on) current-sense topologies and a programmable output range of 0.5 to 8 V.

Configurations for the PX7542 are easily loaded, edited, and saved to nonvolatile memory over the device’s I2 C serial interface using a GUI. The device is driven by a single 5-V supply and operates over a frequency range of 150 kHz to 1 MHz. Housed in a 40-lead QFN package, the IC also features real-time monitoring and reporting of voltage, current, and temperature. (Call company for pricing—available now.)
