The ISL54214/ISL54217 dual SP3T switches enable use of a common mini USB or audio headphone connector in media players and other portable battery-operated products by allowing either two USB transceivers or one USB transceiver plus a UART transceiver to share pins with an audio codec. The ISL54214 combines low-distortion audio and two accurate USB 2.0 high-speed data (480-Mbit/s) signal switching paths, while the ISL54217 adds click-and-pop elimination circuitry to the switch.
The audio switch cells in both devices can pass ±1-V ground-referenced audio signals with a distortion of less than 0.03% THD+N when driving 5 mW into 32-Ω headphone loads. Both devices have fail-safe power-off protection and a special muting mode. (From $0.71 — available now)
