Zuken

Zuken (http://www.zuken.com) has joined ADEPT-SiP project, a U.K.-government-driven initiative to assist organizations across the globe in designing and manufacturing systems-in-package (SiPs). The product of this right-first-time design and supply chain methodology will be a design kit for embedded components within printed-circuit boards, including functionality for simulation and modeling.

Zuken’s initial role is to establish SiP design to manufacturing requirements and define the direction for new design solution development. After analyzing the entire design process, Zuken will make recommendations for developing the software elements required from each industry partner to generate the complete design kit.

The availability of this package will then enable SiPs to be widely adopted within the electronics industry. For more information about the ADEPT-SiP project visit http://www.adept-sip.com

Synopsys

Synopsys (http://www.synopsys.com) has enabled STMicroelectronics (http://www.st.com) to achieve first-silicon success for its 65-nm dual HD MPEG-4 decoder (STi7200), aiming to serve a broad range of digital consumer applications including set-top boxes, HD DVDs, and digital TVs. Synopsys collaborated with STMicroelectronics on this highly integrated SoC throughout the flow and delivered a comprehensive solution including implementation, verification, and intellectual property cores and services.
