EFCO, a world-class supplier of industrial PC, gaming and EMS solutions, introduced its SmartSL U7-100 Series of fanless industrial computers. Measuring only 173 x 88 x 19.7 mm (6.8 x 3.4 x 7.7 inches), the SmartSL U7-100 Series is about the size of a smartphone providing an ultra-slim form factor solution that satisfies newer thinner profile size requirements of a growing variety of factory automation, machine control, smart digital signage, vision control systems and embedded tablet-based applications. Based on highly-integrated Qseven CPU modules, the new EFCO computers offer a uniquely flexible industrial system solution that delivers extensive I/O functionality enabling OEMs to individually tailor the interface to customer/application requirements; even in small quantities. 

Offering excellent compute, HD graphics, media performance and extended thermal operation, the SmartSL U7-100 Series allows customers to select the processor performance and feature level desired from Intel® Atom™ or dual core Intel® Celeron® processor architectures. Feature-packed for space-constrained designs, the SmartSL U7-100 includes 1x mSATA socket, 1 x USB 3.0/2.0, 4x USB 2.0, 16-bit programmable GPIO, 1 x UART – RS-232, 1 x HDMI, 2 x Gigabit Ethernet (GbE), 1 x audio (line-out) / MIC with expansion slots for two full-size PCI Express mini cards with USIM sockets. They support a wide supply voltage range between 9 V and 32 V DC (± 5%), and offer extended temperature operation from 0 ° C to + 50 ° C. Developers can select from optionally available operating systems including Microsoft Windows 8 / Windows 8 embedded, Windows 7 / Windows 7 Embedded Compact or Linux. They comply with the FCC regulations (Class A), and bear the CE mark ensuring these latest computers meet EU safety, health and environmental protection requirements.
