Efficient DC motor control handles 1.2 A peak

The ZXBM5210 reversible dc motor drive IC with speed control includes a high performance H-bridge output stage providing 700 mA continuous or 1.2 A peak. It has low audible switching noise and electromagnetic interference with a supply range of 3 to 18 V that allows operation with a variety of single phase dc motors.

Typical operating current is only 0.85 mA, and 32 µA in standby. The IC has four modes of operation: forward, reverse, brake, and standby. Motor speed is regulated by modifying the duty ratio of PWM signals or adjusting the VREF input voltage.
