Electricity meter SoCs feature 0.1% accuracy

The MAX71314/MAX71315 ZON M3L/M3 single-phase electricity meter SOCs have dual 32-bit processors, 128 or 256 Kbytes of flash, 12 Kbytes of RAM, and a single-cycle 32 x 32 + 64 multiplier. The chips have four independent metrology channels with 0.1% typical accuracy over a 5000:1 current range, along with an LCD controller and two PWM relay control channels.

The SoCs have two remote A/D converter interfaces, a low power 5 kHz A/D converter, and support for current transformers, rogowski coils, and shunts. They also have a sleep mode that takes only 1.75 μA, digital temperature compensation for metrology, and phase compensation (±10°). The ICs work with a 45 to 65 Hz line frequency range without re-calibration. Samples and reference design kits available now.
