Opening the event on Tuesday the 10th, the Keynote Presenter, Scott Barbour, Executive Vice President of Emerson and Business Leader, Emerson Network Power (Systems) will give an inspirational and aspirational address about “The Evolution of Energy Management.”
Also on the 10th and directly following Scott; Brian Patterson, Chairman of the EMerge Alliance will open the Plenary Session with a talk about the “Enernet – the Big Picture.” Later in the Plenary, Kurt Yeager, Vice Chair of the Galvin Project will discuss “DC Microgrids – Challenges and Opportunities.” Other Plenary papers will address, “IEEE's DC in the Home Investigation Project Accomplishments and Future Goals”, “Smart Grid Impact on Intelligent Buildings,” and more.
Wednesday the 11th will be a full day of papers with numerous talks covering DC Data Centers, DC Microgrids, DC Distribution and Components, and more. Among the companies presenting during these sessions will be: Starline, Dell Computer, Pulse Engineering, Northrop Grumman, Netpower Labs, Emerson Network Power, ZBB Energy, Anderson Power Products, and others. You will also hear from customers and potential customers making presentations about their experiences using dc power.
DES ’13 will wrap up on Thursday the 12th with even more in-depth discussions including:
• 2 Continuing Education Seminars: “Occupied Space Specifying DC-Powered Products Seminar” and “Data Centers Specifying DC-Powered Products Seminar”
• 2 Product Presentation Sessions (including individual company presentations and demonstrations): “Occupied Space Products Now Available” and “Data Centers Products Now Available”
• An open dialog Session on “DC Powering–Past, Present and Future — open dialog session about activities at DOE, Emerge Alliance, IEEE, IEC, etc.”
• DES ’13 will close on Thursday afternoon with an EMerge Alliance Members meeting.
