Enclosures are made to be stomped on

Made of an anodized-aluminum extrusion with either plastic or aluminum endcap covers, EXN Series enclosures are IP66 rated. Furthermore, the extruded aluminum construction has grooves that enhance heat dissipation. In addition to typical applications, such as housing electronic instruments, power supplies, and remote controls, the enclosures are rugged enough to serve as stomp boxes — simple percussion instruments consisting of a small box typically connected to an amp; the user taps or stomps on the box with his or her foot to produce a bass-drum-like sound.

The enclosures are easy to use; removal of an endcap cover lets a user slide in a pc board. Seventeen sizes are available, ranging from 2.7 x 1.39 x 1.93 in. to 6.99 x 2.41 x 8.23 in. The bodies come in a choice of five standard colors — gold, blue, silver, black, and red — and covers are available in either colored polycarbonate plastic (UL94-V0) or powder-coated die-cast aluminum (ADC-12) in colors designed to match the body. A 0.5-mm recessed area on the enclosure’s exterior lets a product label be affixed or directly printed on. Covers and bodies are easily modified with cutouts, and mounting brackets and pc boards are available as accessories. Prices start as low as $8.10.
