Designed for the growing demands in automotive applications, the 12-bit AS5145 encoder IC is a contactless, complete system-on-chip magnetic rotary encoder for accurate angular measurement over a full turn of 360° with a resolution of 0.0879° = 4,096 positions per revolution. This digital angle data is available using a simple serial interface or as PWM signal.
In addition, an incremental quadrature output mode with an interpolation algorithm can be enabled and permanently programmed with a resolution of 10 up to 12 bits. Features include user-specific zero programming, chip-ID, diagnostic functions, and operating voltages of 3.3 or 5 V. The AS5145 provides a special feature to synchronize external electronics with itself as well as a sin/cosine digital output mode. ($ 6.94 ea/1,000 — available now.)
