Environmental Protection of HMI Components

Electromechanical devices, including switches, keypads, keyboards, pointing devices and other elements such as indicators and alarms, are critical aspects of the human-machine interface (HMI) for controlling equipment and systems. Full consideration must be given to the environment in which these devices will be deployed before specifying for any advanced HMI system. ■
