Epoxy withstands long-term immersion in acids

The EP21AR two-component epoxy can withstand prolonged immersion in acidic environments, including those up to 98% sulfuric acid and 36% hydrochloric acid for over a year. The rugged epoxy has a tensile strength over 10,000 psi, a shear strength over 2,700 psi, and a compressive strength ≥14,000 psi at 75°F.

The EP21AR is serviceable from –60° to 275°F and has a 400-V/ms dielectric strength and a 45 to 55 ppm/°C coefficient of thermal expansion. The epoxy is 100% reactive, has a 2-to-1 mix ratio by weight, a mixed viscosity of 10,000 to 15,000 cps and a working life of 45 to 55 min for a 200-g batch at ambient temperatures.
