Ethernet switch ICs handle 10 & 40 GbE networks

The Prestera DX8212 and DX8208 12 and 8 port Ethernet packet processor/switch ICs are optimized for 10 GbE and 40 GbE networks. The ICs target high density 1 and 2.5 GbE communications at the enterprise edge and 10 and 40 GbE at aggregation in the small and medium-sized enterprise and business areas.

Using a dual core ARM CPU and 10GBase-T PHYs, the devices offer a unique way to migrate from 1 GbE to 10 GbE copper or fiber through an auto-media feature. The ICs include Flex Link ports for speeds of 10, 2.5, or 1 Gbits/s, IEEE 1588 support, and IEEE 803.2ba backplane Ethernet. They handle a variety of tagging formats and tunneling mechanisms: VxLAN, NvGRE, EVB, SPB, Geneve and NSH.
