Ethernet switch SoC targets 10 G data centers

The Trident-II+ (BCM56860) is the next-generation of StrataXGS Trident Ethernet switch SoC for 10 Gig virtualized data centers. The 10/40/100 GbE standards-compliant switch IC offers 1.28 Tbit/s performance, 30% lower power, and double the tunneling performance of previous devices.

Targeted for enterprise data centers employing virtualized services, the chip has 128 low-power serial interfaces capable of 1 to 10 G Ethernet operation and up to eight ports of 100G Ethernet. It has OpenFlow 1.3+ support and full IPv4 and IPv6 unicast and multicast routing support. Samples available now.
