The SH7775 32-bit processor achieves performance as high as 1 G instructions/s and up to 4.2 GFLOPS. The chip incorporates a GPS baseband-processing function and a graphics engine that is optimized for map drawing and 3-D images, and yields smooth, high-quality 2-D and 3-D graphics displays.
The BGA560-packaged device includes a dual four-way set-associative cache, a USB v2.0 host interface, a dedicated 25-channel DMAC, a four-channel sound interface, CAN, SPI, ATAPI and remote-control interfaces, nine other serial channels, and nine timer channels. The IC uses a unified memory architecture that allows memory sharing and as two external buses: a 32-bit dedicated bus for connections to DDR2-SDRAM and another 32-bit for flash memory or SRAM.
