Fast digitizer packs 32 channels on an AXIe module

Said to be unrivaled as a high-density AXIe DAQ solution, the M9709A 8-bit high-speed digitizer provides 32 synchronous, 1-Gsample/s channels in a single, one-slot module. Channels can also be interleaved to provide 16 2-Gsample/s pathways. Thus the data acquisition module is well suited for use in performing experiments is such areas of advanced physics as hydrodynamics, plasma fusion (Tokamak/Stellarator), particle physics, and microwave astronomy.

The digitizer channels’ analog bandwidth is greater than 500 MHz and long acquisitions are enabled with on-board memory of up to 16 Gbyte. Key specs also include up to 6.9 effective bits, 52 dBc spurious-free dynamic range, and 44 dB SNR. To ensure high throughput, the digitizer provides a four-lane PCI Express Gen 2 backplane that enables sustained data transfers at up to 1.2 Gbyte/s. With four on-board Xilinx Virtex-6 FPGAs, the DAQ can also optimize measurement throughput and support future, customized implementations of high-performance data processing. Starting price is $101,234 and units can be ordered now.
