With a performance boost of 25%, the dsPIC33FJxxGSxxx series of DSP controllers now yield 50 MIPS. The devices target digital power control with a 10-bit A/D converter, up to nine PWMs, up to four high-speed comparators, and optional four-channel DMA.
The chips operate from –40° to 85 and have 16 to 64 Kbytes of flash, PWMs with 1-ns resolution, and 4-Msample/s A/D speed. The are available in 28- to 100-pin packages and use a 3.0 to 3.6-V supply. (From $2.53 ea/10,000 — available now.)
