The MAX14900E octal switch IC features per-channel configuration for high-side or push-pull operation, along with low 0.8 µs propagation delay and fast load switching of up to 850 mA on each channel. Supply voltage range is 10 to 36 Vdc and the device is said to be 70x faster and use 20% less power than existing solutions.
Outputs are controlled by an eight-bit parallel interface or via an SPI port, which is also used for configuration and monitoring. The devices can be daisy chained. The serial mode includes CRC for assured data integrity. The IC is specified over -40° to 125°C and comes in a small 48-pin 7 × 7mm QFN package. Static supply current is just 3 ma.
