Fast SSD provides up to 512 Gbytes

The C400 RealSSD solid state drive family features capacities from 64- to 512-Gbytes in 1.8- and 2.5-inch form factors. The drives reach read speeds up to 415 Mbytes/second, which is 17% faster than the previous generation.

The drives use 25 nm NAND flash technology and have an MTBF of 1.2 million device hours. The 512 Gbyte version achieves up to 260 Mbytes/second write speeds. The units have a SATA 6 Gb/s interface and feature idle power of less than 80 mw and active power of 2.3 to 4.9 w, depending on capacity. (Price not yet determined – available February.)
