Fast UARTs use 1.8 to 3.3-V single supply

The XR16M570, XR16M580, XR16M670, XR16M680, XR16M770, and XR16M780 single-channel UART devices have auto RTS/CTS hardware flow control, auto XON/XOFF software flow control, a fractional baud-rate generator, and auto RS-485 half-duplex direction control. They yield a 16-Mbit/s max data rate at 3.3 V and come in BGA25, QFN24, QFN32, and TQFP48 packages.

The XR16M570/580 series has a 16-byte FIFO, the XR16M670/680 a 32-byte FIFO, and the XR16M770/780 a 64-byte FIFO. Supply voltage is 1.62 to 3.63 V, and current is 2.0 mA max operating and 6 µA in sleep mode with a 2.5-V supply. ($1.80 to $2.05 ea/1,000 — samples available now.)
