FEM enables Wi-Fi, Bluetooth coexistence in mobile electronics

Targeting 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth modulation applications, the AFEM-S102 front-end module integrates a Film Bulk Acoustic Resonator (FBAR) coexistence filter, SP3T antenna switch, and Tx path coupler in a small 2.2 x 2.2 x 0.55-mm package — making it ideal for space-constrained applications. The part delivers 2.6-dB max insertion loss for the Tx path and 35-dB rejection in the 2,110 to 2,170-MHz range — meeting the stringent coexistence requirements and enabling fewer interference issues between Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and other radios.

Additional features include –18-dB Tx directional coupling and –30° to 85° C operation. All RF ports matched to 50 Ω for simplified design. Minimum control voltage is 2.75 V for WLAN Tx and Rx mode and 2.45 V for BT mode. It is based on the company’s GaAs pHEMT and FBAR filter technology. ($1 ea/10,000 — available now.)
