Film snubber capacitor cuts IGBT noise

The MKP386M metallized polypropylene film snubber capacitor is designed to reduce voltage and current spikes caused by the switching of IGBTs. It is configurable for direct mounting on IGBT modules and features a wide capacitance range from 0.047 µF up to 10 µF. 

 The capacitor is rated for 85°C operation with voltage ratings from 700 to 2500 Vdc and 420 to 800 Vac. It features high pulse strength to 2500 V/µs, peak current capabilities to 1850 A, a long life of more than 300,000 hours, and ESR as low as 1.5 mΩ. It comes in packages with lengths of 47, 57, or 72 mm and pricing starts at $4.00 each.
