myIDkey secures all your sensitive data.
Passwords, or anything you type for that matter, can easily be stolen if your operating system is infected by key loggers that track individual keystrokes and upload this information to a malevolent user.
Fortunately, recent advances in consumer technology now throw your very own biometrics into the mix, to function as another layer of security. Take, for example, myIDkey — a portable password management system accessible by your individual fingerprint.
The device stores personal information, ranging from passwords to bank details, as well as auto completes any password and account related information on any browser, thus freeing your fingers from ever getting your system hacked again.
“You never have to remember another password again,” boasts Mark Thacker, the co-founder of the device’s creator, Arkami Inc.
A worthy call-to-arms no doubt, but the statement signifies much more than the simple convenience of recollection. The myIDkey allows us to design secure passwords with strings of random characters without having to deal with the arcane act of reading “&*(FDJ&*()_Tec_H!+” off the yellow pad we wrote it on, and then cautiously type it using an on-screen keyboard. By connecting myIDkey via USB or Bluetooth to a desktop or mobile device, the account login details to your online bank account or whatever you designate are simply auto-filled across the screen.
What's more, if you feel incapable of designing a complex password yourself, then myIDkey may take that burden off your hands as well by auto-generating it for you.
If one requires even additional security for his or her peace of mind, then rest assured: The myIDkey may be customized with additional fingerprint swipes or tap sequences, to unlock the device. Furthermore, myIDkey’s biometric security doesn’t draw the line at computers and laptops — the device uses a built-in Bluetooth to seamlessly extend fingerprint scanning protection to files on your mobile devices, from phones to tablets, using the myIDkey app.
So much personal information on one device seems like a delicate affair, especially if you are overwhelmed by a stroke of carelessness and lose the device. To counteract this potential event, Arkami Inc. guarantees that the myIDkey will self-destruct after multiple failed login attempts.
Not self-destruct in the sense of anything as dramatic as an explosion; rather, the device will simply erase all the stored data. If the device is then later found, or a new one is purchased, the previous settings are simply synced back from Arkami’s cloud, Dropbox, Google Drive, or from the myIDkey desktop/mobile application. The myIDkey app serves as the actual hub of the entire password management operation, and may also be used to sync data between multiple myIDkey devices, forming one large trusted network between family members or business associates.
For modern sensibilities, myIDkey offers a solution and a peace of mind that lets consumers know that they are making every possible effort to protect themselves from identity theft and the leaking of sensitive information. Security is clearly taken very seriously by Arkami, and to that end data is never is stored in its plaintext format at any point. Instead it is encrypted using the AES 256 electronic encryption method used by the U.S. government. All these features are available on a portable thumb drive that is only accessible by fingerprint scan.
