The CAS300M17BM2 is the industry’s first all-SiC 1.7-kV power module that is available in an industry standard 62-mm housing. The half-bridge module exhibits an 8 mΩ on-resistance and is capable of replacing Si IGBT modules rated at 400 A or more. The all-SiC power module allows design engineers to reduce the size and cost of magnetic and cooling elements. It targets systems in motor drive, grid-tie and utility scale solar inverter applications and enables lower production costs and the development of smaller, lighter products with a lower overall total cost of ownership.
The half-bridge SiC module enables simplified two-level topologies that eliminate the need to invest in multi-level silicon-based solutions. Companion gate driver boards have been developed in cooperation with Prodrive, a Netherlands based innovator in power systems design and manufacturing.
