First buffered triple 4:1 video muxes eliminate negative rail
Single-supply parts allow customers to choose between ac- and dc-coupled designs
Designed for use in high-end consumer video products, the ISL59451/ISL59452 are offered as the first single-supply, buffered, triple 4:1 multiplexers. The chip’s features eliminate the need for a negative railfurther saving board space and cost for original device manufacturers. Using these parts, customers can choose between ac- or dc-coupling video into the 0 to 5-V range, while maintaining from the multiplexer the video characteristics usually associated with ±5-V performance.
The ISL59451’s integrated dc-restore feature lifts the video signal above ground and into the operating range of the multiplexer, ensuring the video is in the correct voltage range for processing and a high-quality video signal will result. For systems using an ac-coupled design, the ISL59452 is offered without the integrated dc-restore feature.
Housed in 32-lead QFN packages, the ICs feature 250-MHz bandwidth, subpixel switching rates, and an output gain selectable between x1 or x2. (Ea/100: ISL59451 ,$6.49; ISL59452, $4.88—available now.)
