First hyperspectral imaging camera fuses snapshot benefits with linescan technologies

The Snapscan camera has a multispectral linescan image sensor that combines color with near-infrared imaging in a small package. It creates high-spectral-resolution images and acquires datasets as easily as with a snapshot camera. It captures colors in great detail by using more than 150 spectral bands within the 470- to 900-nm (visible to near-infrared, VNIR) wavelength range. It offers maximum RAW spatial resolution of 3,650 x 2,048 px (7 Mpx) and flat signal-to-noise ratios as high as 200 over the full spectral range.

This small, portable imaging camera captures both linescan and hyperspectral images in a few seconds without needing external scanning movement as scanning is handled internally on a miniaturized scanning stage. It handles inspections in real time online on conveyor belts, guided surgery, food processing, precision agriculture, and other industrial machine vision applications.
