First LED to offer oval light-radiating features

The surface-mountable Displix Oval is the first LED with oval light-radiating characteristics for large-screen video walls, gas station price signs and digital road signs. The housing measuring 2.1 x 2.7 x 1.5-mm (including lens), allowing almost twice as many LEDs to be mounted on a board compared to radial diodes. It doubles the pixel density and the resolution of displays.

The pixel density of the oval radiating LED needs a lower pixel brightness so that the individual LEDs require a lower current, which helps extend the lifetime of the diodes. The devices uses a black QFN housing. It reduces reflections and increases the contrast and color quality of the images displayed across the entire display. The brightness at 20 mA for red and yellow is 1 cd, for green it is 2.6 cd, and for blue it is 600 cd. The beam angle is 110° (horizontal) and 60° (vertical).
