The µPD78F8025 8-bit microcontroller features a constant-current driver — with selectable buck or boost conversion and overcurrent protection — and 32 Kbytes of flash.
The LQFP64-packaged IC operates from 1.8 to 5 V and has five serial interfaces, including LIN bus, a four channel 8-bit PWM, six external interrupts, and a four-channel 10-bit A/D converter. ($5 ea/sample qty — samples available now, production in 2010.)
