Flash Memory Summit reveals the latest ICs, design tools, apps
Dedicated entirely to flash memory design and application, the first annual Flash Memory Summit, held in San Jose, CA, from August 8 to 10,* will provide attendees with practical information on the latest developments in flash memory ICs, the newest design methods, and the latest market trends. Half-day tutorials, workshops, paper and panel sessions, keynotes, roundtables, special sessions, and exhibits will cover consumer, embedded, computer, and communications applications, plus programming methods, testing, and interface standards. In addition, 30 exhibitors will show their products.

On Tuesday there will be tutorials all day, followed by an issues roundtable from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. discussing “The flash/disk wars: who will win, why and when?” Wednesday will have an opening address by Intel's Technology and Manufacturing Group Director Knut S. Grimsrud followed by four keynote speakers between 8:30 a.m. and 12 noon, and then technical sessions all afternoon. From 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., an event entitled “What Will Be the Biggest Market for Flash Memory?” will take place. Thursday's technical sessions will finish at 3 p.m.
