Flat, compact dc/dc converters target rail and vehicles

The PCMDS60W dc/dc converter series targets rail and vehicle technology, and use in industrial and telecommunication applications. These primary-switched converters are available with an output power of 60 W and operate according to the push-pull principle with a frequency of approx. 70 kHz. With the help of a transformer and a secondary linear choke, a galvanically isolated output voltage (5.2, 12, 15, 24 or 48-V) is produced and adjusted by pulse-width modulation according to the current-mode principle.

The converters are available with input ranges for battery voltages of 24, 36, 48, 60, 72, 96 and 110-V. The device dimensions are 130 x 69 x 30-mm. The converters connect via spring clamps, which meet the special requirements for vibration resistance and reduced time for wiring for railway applications. The converters need no ground load, are maintenance free and short-circuit protected by primary and secondary power limitation.
