According to research conducted by IHS iSuppli Research, the shipment of flat-panel televisions in the United States increased at the end of both 2012 and 2013. However, there was a slight decline in overall units shipped during 2013 compared to units shipped in 2012.
Other research conducted by the firm indicates that the technology industry has entered the post-PC era. During the second quarter of 2012, PCs accounted for less than half the market for DRAM bit shipments, down from 50.2% in the first quarter. According to IHS iSuppli Research, during the fourth quarter of 2013, PCs took an even bigger dive, decreasing DRAM bit shipments to 42.8%, while tablet and mobile handset DRAM unit shipments increased.
