Extending its MINIBEND product line, Huber+Suhner has introduced its NANOBEND coaxial cable assembly with a smaller diameter that offers flexible bending for small spaces in critical applications such as in defense, aerospace, and test and measurement markets. Applications include small orbit satellites and military radar electronics.
The NANOBEND cable assembly is designed to be used in internal point-to-point interconnections between RF modules in communications systems. The cable assembly, with an outer cable diameter of 1.62 mm, is extremely flexible and enables tight bending where the cable and connector meet without compromising signal strength or stability, said the company.
The coaxial cable assembly is suited for frequencies of up to 65 GHz, and is said to offer excellent strength and reliable connectivity in high-stress and harsh environments. In addition, the cable assembly is triple shielded to minimize radio frequency leakage, which further increases durability in extreme conditions. It meets ESA, NASA, and MIL standards.
The NANOBEND cable assembly is designed to meet Sensor Open System Architecture standards (SOSA). It provides plug-and-play capability with existing market solutions, enabling easier upgrades. It also offers specially designed connectors that provide end-to-end contacts that meet common industry standards, including SMA, SMP, SK, SMPM and SMPM-T.
