Batteries aren’t perfect — they explode, inflate, leak, and overheat.
Chinese battery manufacturer ProLogium has developed an FLCB battery that can withstand a lot of pressure.
The company recently unveiled the battery that can be twisted and bent while still powering devices. Better yet, the battery even works when you cut pieces off of it using a scissor.

The bendable lithium battery can be as thin as 2 mm and can be folded like a piece of gum or paper — while still working.
ProLogium has been working on these ultrathin batteries for some time now. They’ve incorporated a nonflexible version into the HTC One Max smartphone.
Digital Trends was able to get their hands on the battery and found it to be very safe. According to the publication, “The FLCB battery is a solid-state cell, with the two anodes completely isolated from each other. We watched as a pair of scissors chopped off the corners of the battery. The attached light went out as parts were cut off (the circuit had been broken by the scissors), but amazingly returned again. There’s no chance of explosion, leaks, or fire, because there’s no flammable or liquid material inside.”

The company is also working on a Li-Metal battery that can be used in smartphones; it would be able to double the standby time of a traditional Li-ion battery. The company revealed that producing Li-Metal batteries can be a dangerous task but should be revealing the new battery later this year.
